Great news! Audiobooks for the Elemental Mysteries/Elemental World from Audible.com

Audible logoI am very excited and pleased to announce that all four Elemental Mysteries novels and the first Elemental World book will soon be available in audiobook format! I am partnering with Audible.com, the world’s biggest producer of digital audiobooks, to make the Elemental Mysteries and Building From Ashes available for listeners, as well as readers. I don’t have any details right now about when they will be available to buy (I’m sure it’s a bit of a process to produce them), but as soon as I do, I’ll make sure to let you all know.

Many thanks to Audible and the wonderful people at Dystel and Goderich Literary Management (especially you, Lauren!) for making this deal happen, particularly over the crazy holiday season. I know some readers have been asking about audiobooks, so I’m thrilled to have that format available to them, and I hope this opens the Elemental Mysteries world up to a whole new audience!

Now, just in case you were wondering, I do not have any say in who the narrator for the books will be. I’m sure you all have lots of ideas, but I’m going to leave all that up to the very smart producers over at Audible. I’m sure they’ll pick the best narrator for the job.

Thanks for reading (and soon listening!)

Carwyn update and where to find me (other than here)

I’m a busy little bee, but I haven’t updated here on the blog in a while!

Publishing News: Major edits on Carwyn’s book, Building From Ashes are complete! It is in the hands of my lovely proofreader right now, who is working on it before it goes to the formatter. That means that (natural disasters and exploding cats aside) the book will be ready for it’s release on October 23rd, which is only a week from today!

HOWEVER, should you want to win an early copy of the book (and you participate in the entity known as Facebook) you can enter to win an early copy over on my new “Elizabeth Hunter” page by ‘liking’ the page. That’s it! All you have to do is like it and you’re entered. I’m doing the drawing tomorrow night, so don’t wait!

Where to find me: Here, obviously (and on Facebook and Twitter), but I’ve also been sucked into the wonderful world of Pinterest. Far more than just a general time-suck, Pinterest is a great way to keep up with my current works-in-progress like the Cambio Springs series and a new Contemporary Romance that I’ve been plotting out. I can ‘pin’ pictures, songs, and quotes that inspire me and you, my dear readers, can get a sneak peek of what’s going on in my brain. If you’re at all curious about what I’m writing next, my Pinterest boards will offer some clues.

New projects: As I’ve mentioned, I’m going to be taking a break from the Elemental Mysteries world for a little bit after the release for Ashes. As most of you know, I’ve been writing almost non-stop in the Elemental world for over a year, and the last thing I want is to get burned out. I have a LOT of stories to tell there, but if I don’t give my brain a rest and work on other things, I’m afraid the work could get stale. Keeping things fresh makes me a better writer and gives you guys some variety, too!

I’m about 3/4 of the way finished with the first draft for the Cambio Springs novel (which is still untitled) and my next project is going to be a fun contemporary romance with a lighter feel. Think bookshops, tattoos, and banter. I’m gonna have fun with this one.

I’ll see you all next week, everyone!

A New Carwyn Teaser (just because)

Just because I love you, I’m posting a new teaser for Building From Ashes. The timeline in this books is… complicated. It stretches from BEFORE A Hidden Fire starts (so you see a little character history) until AFTER A Fall of Water finishes. As I’m sure lots of you could tell, Carwyn had quite a few things going on in his life that didn’t make it into Gio and Beatrice’s story. So Building From Ashes explores that storyline and also sets up the Elemental World for some new adventures.

This teaser is just a bit of the overlap in the two books. This is a small moment between Beatrice and Carwyn from the five years that Gio was out of her life and she was in Southern California. I mentioned that Carwyn and Tenzin both came to visit her at different times. Here is one of those times: Continue reading

Cover Reveal: Building From Ashes

Coming on OCTOBER 23rd, the first book in the expanded Elemental World series

by Elizabeth Hunter

In a world teetering on the edge of change, two beings struggle to find their purpose. Will their paths lead them closer together or tear their worlds apart?

For a thousand years, powerful earth vampire Carwyn ap Bryn has served others. God. His family. His friends. But tragedy and loss disrupt his peaceful existence, causing him to question everything he has committed his eternity to.
Brigid Connor has known about vampires since they rescued her from a painful childhood. But not even their vast elemental power can save her from the demons that torment her.

As loyalties are tested and new paths are forged, a lurking danger slowly grows in the Elemental World. Carwyn and Brigid will learn that even secrets revealed can come back to haunt you when you least expect it.

Please visit one of the following participating blogs for an exclusive teaser of the new book:

New Covers, a New Look for the Site, and a Free Kindle offer!

It’s here! In case you missed the new cover reveal last week (During which I was off the grid camping in the High Sierras. I know, great timing.) here are the new covers for the Elemental Mysteries! I hope you like them. I tried to incorporate new elements to make the books more recognizably paranormal romance, while still retaining the original cover art, which I loved so much. So how do you think I did?

I’ve also updated the site’s look a bit. No content changes right now. Still the same blog and the same links, just a quick update on the look that cleans it up a bit.

The most exciting news (at least for Kindle owners) is that Amazon has decided to match the free Smashwords price for A Hidden Fire! So those of you who have friends or family with Kindles, spread the word. For the month of August, A Hidden Fire is absolutely FREE to download. As you know, independent authors like me depend a lot on the word of mouth of our best advertisers—our readers! And I’ve always bragged that I have the best, smartest, most loyal readers in the world. (Are you blushing yet?) I’m also pretty sure you have amazing fashion sense. I can tell from your comments. ;-)

Have a great week, everyone. May your coffee be strong, your inbox be empty, and your lunch be those really amazing Thai leftovers you’ve been looking forward to.

Thanks for reading,

New Cover Reveal on Thursday!

Hello, readers!

I haven’t been blogging this week, or doing much for that matter, since I’ve been hit by some plague my seven-year-old gave me. Kids. They’re cute, but germy.

On top of that, I’m scheduled to go camping this weekend somewhere where there is no cell signal, which means no computer, or Facebook, or Twitter. No internet at all, as a matter of fact. This is what I have to do to relax, according to my family. Otherwise, I work all the time.

BUT, I did want to give you the links (before I fall off the grid) for the cover reveal on Thursday! Please check out the following amazing sites for all four new Elemental Mysteries covers on Thursday.

And don’t forget that A Hidden Fire is FREE on Smashwords for the month of August! If you haven’t gotten a copy, or want to give one to a friend, this is a great opportunity.

Have a wonderful week, everyone, and I’ll see you next week when I come back from the mountains.
